Yesiree that’s right. It only took like a bazillion years and a few hit movies for the cast of “The State” for MTV to finally get their collective heads out of their asses and ACTUALLY release the revolutionary comedy/sketch series on DVD. The indie rock of sketch shows, which helped usher in and out the alternative nation MTV loved so much in the 90’s, has been slated for a full DVD release for at least 5 years now. Each time, something would happen. MTV once blamed licensing rights, since most of the sketches used songs from popular artists, like The Breeders, Ween and Morphine, but I couldn’t imagine any of those bands passing up cash to be the back drops to some of the funniest stuff to ever hit TV. Then MTV said it was something else, and finally in 2006, “The State” was made available for purchase on iTunes.
So today’s news, courtesy of David Wain himself, is really in a word awesome. The DVD set will be released this summer on July 14th, so get your pre-orders on as I see this going very quickly! According to MTV, the set will have at least 90 minutes of unaired material, commentary with the cast, outtakes and interviews. Hell Yeah. So I guess for MTV, it needed a few hit movies from the cast of “The State”, like “Role Models”, “Wet Hot American Summer” and this weekend’s winner “17 Again” (more on that later), to make this DVD set a reality. Let’s all agree this is something we can definitely dip our balls in it.

Ok, ok, I know it seems like we've been slackin. That's (partially) not true.
One of us lacks proper television due to roommates who pretend they're too cool for TV school (and reliable internet, effin cavemen).
The other has been drowning in multiple tacky Long Island weddings.
This shizz will be fixed, we promise.
In the meantime, here are multiple videos for you to enjoy. Schwing!
The show Look Around You is British, smart, AND funny. I know, weird, right?
Check out the video here.
Jake and Amir has been an interwebisode for freakin ever, but whenever we mention it to anyone, everyone is like, wha? I guess they're on MTV right now, though I wouldn't know thanks to my lack of cable television (douchey roommates).
I once saw Amir on the F train heading downtown. He got on, plopped down his fencing gear, whipped out a notebook and started writing furiously. Every once in a while he would look up, look around, mumble to himself and then go back to writing. It was difficult to tell if this was part of the series or not, or if he's joking or not. And that is the sign of a true master of his craft, like Sean Penn or George W. Bush. (See how I did that? Hilariousness)
Anyways, the premise- Amir and Jake work together. Amir loves Jake. Jake does not love Amir (or does he?). Amir is weird. Hilarity ensues.
Movie Debate from Amir on Vimeo.
I also recommend his twitter feed, as it's frig hilari.
This movie has been out for a while. Um. I don't want to say anymore.
This is just straight up mesmerizing.
Well, more to come, we promise.
Until then,
Thanks for all the fishes.

So far…..
The girls are painfully skinny.
The boys are painfully gay.
And everyone has a touch of the meth face.
